A round under the Schlern walls
Hike under the landmark of South Tyrol
There are several signposts in a small hollow next to the pond. First follow the marker 1 »Tuffalm« and you will come to the upper pond. Shortly above, the paths fork and again signposts indicate the direction. The wide path on the left is marked »Tuffalm bequem« – and why shouldn't you be comfortable! You follow this path and reach the indicated alp in three quarters of an hour. Some greyed board walls along and beside the path indicate that a toboggan run runs here in winter. From the Tuffalm you descend a few metres into a hollow, where there is another signpost, this time with the indication »Hofer Alpl« and again the marking 1, which leads up to the Schlern. We follow this path for about half an hour, where at about 1400 metres above sea level a signpost points to the right to the »Hofer Alpl«. Following this, it takes three quarters of an hour from Tuffalm to Hoferalpl. On the way you will notice, apart from the view up into the desert, a myriad of small and larger springs,
