A 061 - From the Passo Giau to Citta di Fiume hut

From Passo Giau (2236 m) walk south-eastward to the fork Zonia. Cross the Cernera valley, then climb up to the Giau fork (2,360 m – fork on trail no. 456). Follow trail 436 which runs through the habitat of Mondeval and leads around the beautiful Lake Baste. Near the dairy farm of Mondeval di Sopra (2158 m) lies the place where the Mondeval man was discovered. Below the steep walls of Ponta Lastoi of Formin continue towards east to the Ambrizzòla fork (2,277 m). Along the base of the Becco di Mezzodì (junction of trails 434-466) follow trail 436 and cross the Col Duro fork. Walking near the Prendèra hut (2148 m - junction of trail 436). Finally, continue to the Col Roan fork (2,075 m - junction of trail 458) and walk through Passo de la Puina (2,034 m) along the trail 467 up to the Città di Fiume hut.
