The starting point of this stage is Tires at the foot of Catinaccio. From here, follow trail no. 4 (after the 'Besinnungsweg' trail) to the church of San Sebastiano. Following the indications (trail no. 4) on forest roads and trails walk up to Tschafon hut on Mount Cavone. The Tschafon hut is under the Mount Cavone at 1733 m.
