The Torchiato path is the way to enjoy the peculiarities of Fregona landscapes. The route passes close the “Centro di Appassimento dei Produttori del Torchiato”, a place where 2 excellent products of the country are made:

Torchiato di Fregona DOCG, excellent after-meal raisin wine belonging to the Colli di Conegliano DOCG designation, produced thanks to the blend of three typical grape varieties: Glera, Verdiso and Boschera;

Boschera IGT, white wine produced from the homonymous vineyard, part of the product specification of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, another famous denomination in these areas.

The route will then lead you inside the various villages of Osigo (Fregona) and Borgo Luca, passing through vineyards, centuries-old buildings and wooded realities. Particularly noteworthy is the Torchio del Col of Osigo, located in the square of the homonymous village, and the panoramic views from the hills of Luca.

Turn-by-turn directions

The route starts in the locality of Fratte in Fregona at the public parking - corner Via San Giusto -, goes up the same street, enters an ancient court and continues in front of the equally ancient Villa ex Altan-Pancetti in front of the 17th century Church of San Giusto, a small gem of the district restored and constantly treated by the residents. Moving towards east and crossing the area in front of the Villa, after about 400 meters of downhill dirt road, you reach the impressive Lake "Matruc", a lake owned by Enel and artificially regulated in water flow by a small dam which also governs the flows of the surrounding water canals. Keeping to the right of the lake, immediately after the water exit channel, take the road uphill towards the locality of "Val Barè" whose buildings were the headquarter of the ancient Gastaldia of Fregona; passing on the back of the structure, continue uphill until the junction where you turn left to the north on Via Lughera and proceed for about 800 meters. At the following crossroads, continue to the right on the paved road downward up to the first bridge where, turning left, you enter a dirt road which, keeping to the right, leads through the vineyards to Villa Roncat (Salvador) erected in early '700 in a dominant area on the sunny hillside. Leaving the Villa on the left, descend along Via Roncat turning left at the first crossroads and, after a few dozen meters, turn immediately right on the bridge to Via Coilsola, until you reach the homonymous village with the characteristic church situated on the right of the village itself. Going around the church on the front and keeping the vineyard on the left, take the cart road that runs along it up to the end of itself and then continue straight, crossing the wood and the next vineyard, to reach Via Pralongo turning left. From here, continuing uphill for just over a kilometer, you reach the chapel of the Madonna Delle Grazie at Borgo Col of Osigo, from where, making a slight detour to the right, you can discover the centre of the ancient village with the emblematic winepress placed in the centre of the square. Resuming the route from the church to the north for about 150 meters along a paved road, you cross the dirt road on the right that leads, uphill, towards Borgo Luca. After crossing the provincial road (SP151) continue uphill, passing in front of the fountain, up to the capital of Sant'Antonio and, keeping to the left, go steeply uphill to the lawn above where, passing under a few mulberry trees to the left of the stable, take the steeply descending path, at the edge of the lawn that crosses the wood until you reach the dirt road that, on the flat and downhill, leads to the town of Osigo (Via Carnielutti). Continuing on Via Coletti/Carnielutti you reach the centre of Osigo and you cross it westbound (Via Osigo) on a paved road until you cross Via Castagnola on the left which, after about 600 meters downhill, passes in front of the Centro di Appassimento del Torchiato di Fregona. Go ahead for about 2 km first on Via Borgo Danese, crossing the homonymous village passing in front of the church of San Liberale erected by the noble Giustiniani, and then on Via Buse until you reach the roundabout where, keeping to the right, you turn into Via Lughera following it for just over a kilometer in its ups and downs until it joins the provincial road 422 near the “Alle Fratte” restaurant. Turning left and continuing on the sidewalk you return near the parking area of departure.
