To the Muthöfen and Thurnstein Castle

This easy, pleasant tour offers an ­enchanting panorama that stretches far üacross the Etschtal and the ­Meraner Kessel. In addition, you have a good view of the picturesque Thurnstein and Tyrol gorges. The Muthöfe above Tyrol are a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Until a few years ago, the walks were only accessible by cable car, whereas today the scattered settlement is connected to the Tiroler Kreuz inn by a convenient forest road. With the exception of a small variant leading to the impressive Tirol Castle, the return trip is made along the same path.
