A tour with medium difficulty that starts in the idyllic and remote Fischleintal near Sexten/Sesto. First, it makes a loop through this unique valley, then it leads you to Sexten, Innichen, and finally Toblach.

On well-prepared tracks you ski from the small valley "Fischleintal" in Sexten to Innichen and on to Toblach. For the arrival at the starting point we suggest taking the bus line nr. 446 (departures every 30 minutes). From the bus stop Fischleintal you can either run a loop to the Talschlusshütte and back, or start directly on the gentle downhill to Sexten. From Moos to Sexten the track is very flat; at Sexten there are some short ascents waiting for you. After reaching Innichen you can continue to Toblach either on the track in the forest (slightly hilly) or on the flat track in the valley.

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting point: bus stop beside Fischleinbodenhütte/hut. Follow the path straight ahead towards Talschlusshütte for approx. 50 m. At the intersection with the cross-country tracks there are two possibilities: you can either turn left and go to the Talschlüsshütte (therefore ski the loop through the valley), or you can turn right and go directly towards Sexten. If you turn left, you soon reach a bifurcation. Both tracks go inbound the valley, we reccomend taking the right one and following it to the hut at the end of the valley (Talschlusshütte). Return on the same way. Near Fischleinbodenhütte continue following the tracks straight ahead. After 500m there are two possibilities: you can turn right and follow the quite easy track to Sexten (as pictured on this map), or you can keep left and follow the more difficult one. From here, you can always follow the route indications towards Innichen/Toblach. At the small ski slope on the left-hand side (Waldheimlift) you have the possibility to visit the centre (by feet, on the right side). Otherwise continue straight ahead on the tracks. KM 11: Restaurant on the right-hand side (Gasthaus zum Klaus). Keep on following the tracks towards Innichen. Soon after Hotel Sole Paradiso the track is interrupted and you have to walk by feet for 5 minutes. To do so, just follow the sign at the end of the track until reaching the first bridge. Then turn left, cross the bridge, and immediately turn right. At the valley station of the ski slope (Haunold). Go straight ahead across the huge parking lot. At its end, the track continues. You pass the trade center of Innichen. At its end there is a bifurcation, at which you can either go right onto the easy (blue) track, or left on the red track. We suggest keeping left, as this track is much more enjoyable (despite being a little bit more difficult). At KM 17 you pass the source of the river Drau/Drava. From this point on, the tracks are quite flat until Toblach. From the end point at the train station you can reach the centre either by City-Bus or by ski (if the tracks to the centre are open).
