Especially in spring and autumn, the apple meadows of the Adige Valley attract visitors with the colours of the blossoms and the ripe apples. In addition, this loop still offers some interesting sights for those interested in technology and culture.
Near the entrance to the Gargazon swimming pool, use the railway underpass to reach the cycle path. Follow this in the direction of Merano. After 4 km you are opposite the Burgstall railway station. Since 2012, the restored iron truss bridge has connected the cycle path with the opposite bank of the Adige. There you can examine the electric locomotive of the Apfelexpress from close up. Continue along the cycle path in the direction of Burgstall/Lana. Passing the Lana swimming pool, you reach a second electric locomotive. Follow the cycle path, but after 100 m already turn left into Sonnenweg. In the middle of the apple meadows you now ride directly to the Niederlana parish church, known for the Schnatterpeck altar. The South Tyrolean Fruit Tree Museum is also close by. Follow the Lahnstrasse to the Gisshof farm, where you turn right towards Krebsbach. Pass the golf course, the Krebsbach biotope and apple orchards and continue straight ahead for almost 3 km on the tarred road until
