Along the lake. The tour around the Resia Lake, the biggest lake in Alto Adige, is particularly recommended during hot summer days. No other place offers a route of this kind, which is easy and along the bottom of the valley with negligible gradient and usually mild temperatures.
From the car park turn immediately right and cycle to the embankment of the Resia Lake. On the west bank of the river, follow the signposts for the “Reschen/Resia” cycling path. This part of the route that reaches the furthest western point of the lake is characterised by continuous ups and downs. Small hills are alternated with quick descents, so there is never a dull moment. Even the surfers and kite surfers on the lake live up the scenery.
After a good 6 kms, you will reach the station downstream from the Piz Schöneben cable car. Follow for the moment the road until you reach the edge of the town of Resia; then turn right and follow the signposts “Seerunde/Tour around the River”. At this point, you’re already halfway! To return to the starting point, cycle along the east side of the river.
