Turn-by-turn directions

From Maso Corto/Kurzras, we cross the ski slopes (blocked off once they open for skiing!) up to Hochjoch or take the cable car to Grawand and go downhill from there. From Giogo Alto/Hochjoch, we go down the Hochjochferner glacier towards Ötztal Valley to about 2,650 m a.s.l. We now climb slightly to the right and continue for a distance in a north-easterly direction until we get to the glacier that stretches up to the wide saddle between Hauslabkogel on the right and Saykogel on the left. Cross the glacier on a moderate slope as far as the saddle. Deposit your skis just above this, at about 3,220 m a.s.l. Go to the left over the gentle ridge to the summit. Descend as you ascended with a sharp ascent of about 45 minutes to Hochjoch.
