Shield tip

Take the road back a short distance to the Enzianalm. Immediately after the pasture, turn left up through the forest to a fence. Pass the left end of the fence and turn right for quite a long time through sparse but steep forest to the beginning of the Pedertal valley. At 2300 m you reach the tree line and the valley becomes flat. Continue straight until you reach a signpost in the middle of the valley, 2400 m. Straight up over the ridge between two valley hollows to below a rocky promontory, 2742 m (point on the map). After the point 2742 m, straight up the large hollow to 3040 m. Here, very steeply, turn right and climb up to 3040 m. Here very steeply up to the right and shallowly into a large basin, 3080 m. Up the right hollow into a saddle, 3180 m. Now flat under the wide southeast ridge. Over this up the ridge and right to the summit with cairn and summit book. Descent as ascent.
