Via the piste flat towards the Sulden glacier. After crossing the piste, turn left uphill to the slope and then into the large hollow that leads up to the glacier. Cross this and turn left into the upper, shallow basin of the glacier. Now take the steep slope on the right to below the Suldenspitze. At the left saddle, where the track leads to the Casatihütte (pole), turn right onto the Rücken. Across this a little way up and right onto the flat, uppermost glacier plateau. Turn right under the eastern fore-peak of the Schrötterhorn. Through a hollow into the saddle in front of this ski depot (3350 m). Now turn right onto a small rise. A few metres down into a saddle (beware of a cornice on the right!) and steeply up again to the nearby highest point. Direct ascent to the Schrötterhorn: Into the lower, large hollow and sloping right to the north ridge of the Schrötterhorn. Now turn left up through the hollow, until at 3040 m you turn left under the striking icefall into flatter
