Easy but rewarding.
Classic skitouring hike to the Saxner on the crest of Monte Giovo in the Alta Val Isarco, ideal in winter.

Ascent: we follow the track for about 1 km – keeping to the right until we reach an intersection – as far as a hairpin bend on the right-hand side (1,620 m). Here we leave the road on the left-hand side of a young forest. We continue briefly up a very steep slope through a forest until we reach another track to the left of the so-called Waldhüttl (1,744 m). We continue along a wide plateau and through a wood until we reach the track again. We go up through a wood and reach an open meadow above the edge of the wood near two barns (1,882 m). We pass close to the one on the right and we go diagonally right up the long valley. We go left along the north ridge of the Saxner, up the valley as far as the pass between the Fleckner (left) and the Saxner (right). From here we go left towards the Fleckner (2,331 m, summit cross) or right up a steep slope to the Saxner.
