Ski touring to the Punta Saldura, ideal in both winter and spring

Ascent: we take the fenced footpath (signposted: “Lagauntal”) which starts opposite the mountain farms.  Going round a hill on the right-hand side we reach the next signpost. The route now goes diagonally to the left towards the Val di Lagaun. Going past the wood and through a gate we enter the main valley. We continue along the wide flat valley floor below a prominent and visible morainic ridge. We go right along a wide rocky hollow which gradually narrows and we reach the entrance to the Lagaun glacier. We continue straight ahead to reach the foot of a mountain peak to the right of the Lagaunspitze. We now have two possible routes up the steep mountain: a) from the left-hand edge of the glacier and to the right of two rocky spurs, we can go up a narrow and very steep slope as far as the crest, along which we can reach, after a series of ups and downs, the mountain top; b) we can follow straight up an extremely steep and fairly long path which goes through a wide canyon and leads up
