Ski tour on the Grenzberg in Gsies in the Puster Valley
Ascent: Follow the forest road (toboggan run) for approx. 800 m until another forest path branches off to the right to the Tschernied-Alm (signposted). Follow the path until it curves to the right and crosses the Tscherniedbach stream. Go straight up to the left of the stream to the alpine pasture (1976 m). From there, turn left for about 150 m until you reach a hollow in the stream. To the left of this, first straight, then sloping right into the right-hand hollow. Now walk up this hollow until you are a little below the cross. Left onto a ridge and straight up to the fence to a small hut (2220 m). Straight up a moderate incline to the limestone junction with information board. Descent as ascent. To the Gailspitze: From the Kalksteinjöchl to the left and approx. 20 metres uphill over a ridge down to a small saddle. Climb straight on and in a moderate ascent first through hollows, then ück over a wide ridge to the pre-peak (2460 m). Continue to a small saddle (ski depot).
