Hochvogel from Hinterstein
The Hochvogel is an extremely striking mountain in the Allgäu Alps that attracts many people in summer. In winter, on the other hand, it is very rarely visited, as it is a strenuous and very demanding day tour. First you start by bike from Hinterstein to the Giebelhaus. Then, without gaining a lot of height, you walk the long Bärgündeletal backwards to just before the Pointhütte. From the Bärgündelealpe you steadily gain height. Since you have to accept some crossings and counter-climbs on this route and finally have to walk about 300 m in altitude to the summit, the total effort is relatively high and the pure downhill fun is more in the background. So the ascent of the summit is in the foreground as an alpine destination. All in all, a really great ski tour, on which you are often alone on the mountain due to the length and remoteness.
