Difficult route but of great satisfaction toward the most western refuge of the Brenta Group, with a scenic view on the Presanella top.
Author’s recommendation
The route requires a good physical training and has some stretches on gravel and little rocks; the most difficult stretch near the so-called "Scala Santa" has iron ropes. Anyway, the beauty of the area repays you for the hard climb.
Not to be missed near the refuge the little church carved in the rock, dedicated to the people dead in the mountains.
If you want to go down to valley from Doss del Sabion area with the cablecar, check the timetable of the last run.

We suggest you not to choose this route if you are not used to walk on a rocky ground or if you don't like exposed streched with iron ropes.

Turn-by-turn directions
From Pinzolo take the lifts to Doss del Sabion (cablecar and chairlift). From “Doss del Sabion” refuge go down along “Soffio del Vento” path. At the fork turn right, southbound, catch the path n°357 leading to “bregn da l’Ors” Pass.
In “Madonnina” area catch the path In Madonnina area, at the paths’ crossroad, catch the easy path eastbound, which after some ups and downs leads to the level land called Piano di Nardis and Lago Asciutto.
Cross it and go up, pass a rock zone called Scala Santa with steels cables and go on through a gravel area and some rocks till the refuge. Come back along the same itinerary.

Public transport
You can reach Pinzolo by the Trentino Trasporti buses. The bus top is just in front of the lifts of Doss del Sabion.

Getting there
The Doss del Sabion cablecar is at 800 mt a.s.l., north of Pinzolo, along the main road SS239 towards Madonna di Campiglio.
