Rötspitze
One of the most beautiful Ahrntal high peaks.
From Kasern in the inner Ahrntal valley (1595 m), follow trail no. 11 down to the Talbach stream, then climb through the forest to the bridge over the Rötbach stream, continue on trail no. 11 and past various remains of the mine up a steep slope to the Äuß Rötalm (2116 m, bar), now almost level through the Röttal into and finally moderately steep up to the Lenkjöchlhütte near the Überggang into the Windtal (2590 m; from Kasern 3–3½ hrs.); here, refreshment. From the hut a few steps down to the Lenkjönl, on an unmarked but good path on the south side of the grassed slope and then – over scree and boulders without any problems;then up easily over scree and boulders to the glacier and up steeply over it to the shoulder-like Kleine Rötspitze (3290 m); now üeasily over the almost horizontal ridge south-west to the foot of the Rötspitze, along the rocky ridge, which is wide at first and narrows visibly towards the top, partly on path tracks, partly "over bushes and solid rock (some
