Wild nature Anyone who reaches the Rifugio Serristori for the first time, from where there are sublime views over the three Ortles, will not have been expecting the desolate scenery of the Zay Valley beyond: no more farms or grazing land, but a very rugged landscape of bare rocks
From Santa Gertrude - Sankt Gertraud to Solda - Sulden (1,844 m) we will take route 5 in the Zay Valley to reach the Rifugio Düsseldorfer Hütte-Serristori (2,724 m; 2.30 hours). After turning right at the intersection we will follow the signpost to «Angelus», climbing between boulders up a rocky spur. Moderately difficult hike followed by a very steep ascent of 30-40 metres, facilitated by the use of secured ropes. After a quick steep ascent the rocky trail becomes gentler. It continues without major difficulties (you can walk on snow if you prefer) to a signposted foresummit. Walking around it we will reach the main summit (3,521 m). Return via the same route.
