Alpine Path no. 3 starts from Pusteria and ends at Longarone. This route runs through the heart of the Eastern and Belluno Dolomites, and includes various alpine landscapes that alternate wild to almost bucolic environments. It is also known as the "Alpine Path of the Chamois" because the trails often follow the tracks of these special mountain dwellers. Hikers will discover famous groups such as the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, Crystal Mountain, and Mount Pelmo, the massifs of Monte Piana, Sorapìss, and Mount Rite. Right here, on the site of fortifications built in the First War, stands now the Museum in the Clouds, which is worth a visit. A shuttle bus service links the museum and the adjoining shelter with Forcella Cibiana. The end point of the Alpine Path is the town of Longarone, known sadly for the tragedy of Vajont dam.
