We go across the dam to the other side of the lake until we reach the stream that comes out of the Valle della Pipa (Pfeifholdertal). We go as far as the edge of the wood via the steep summer route. We continue up to the valley without much difficulty until we arrive below the Rifugio Ponte di Ghiaccio (Edelrauthütte). We go up a slope on the right-hand side first straight, then diagonally right, at about 2,800 m, then turn left and reach a small plateau. After a series of ups and downs we go up a moderately steep slope to the Forcella Alta di Punta Bianca (Obere Weißzintscharte, 3,183 m). From here we reach the highest point of the Gran Pilastro glacier. We go across the south-western crest of the Punta Bianca (Hoher Weißzint), and reach a hollow (keep an eye out for crevasses!). We go up a steep slope to the shoulder on the right-hand side of the summit. We continue ahead on the left-hand side of a mound, until we reach the foot of the summit (here we leave our skis) and reach the summit on foot. If the trail is good we can go up (very steep!) directly from the Forcella A. di Punta Bianca to the pass below the summit.
Descent: via the same route; we can descend to the lower section of the Valle della Pipa along the first or second canyon.
Direction: east – south – west
Difficulty for skiers: average
Difficulty for hikers: average; crampons recommended
