A fascinating excursion in the midst of impressively rocky bastions that brand the eastern end of the Lagorai. The usage of the chairlift allows you to surmount the difference in height that has to be climbed more easily.

Directions

Ascent: At the start of the path you turn left immediately (a short and discomforting traverse) to reach a saddle, without making use of the skin on your skis. Then you descent into the lower basin and below the walls of Ceremana you continue to rise in the direction of the Valcigolera junction (south-western direction). Before reaching it (2421 m) you follow the crest to the summit.

Descent: In the direction of the Buse di Malacarne, descent in the western direction. West: At the point, where the ridge lowers itself to the side, you turn south onto the slope that leads back to the alpine hut Valzanchetta (take care on this very steep path). With your skinned skis you can climb from the hut (1867 m) to the east, avoiding some rocky ledges on the right. After having reached the junction Valzanchetta you continue by descending into the valley to reach the alp Malga Valcigolera, where you will also find the ski slope. From the alp* you take the long forest road, that descents into the Valcigolera (attention: turn left, over the bridge at the junction on 1650 m) until you reach the asphalt-road near the valley stations of the chairlifts (5 minute walk).

Variante

*The descent through the forest is long and not very exciting. Therefore, you can, from the alp Malga Valcigolera, go back to the mountain station of the chairlift Coston (with skinned skis or with the short chairlift) and then descent from here back to the starting point.
