Directions
Ascent: from the terminal we head south over a ditch, cross the ski slope, and go up the moraine. Behind the moraine we go as far as the Solda Pass, keeping to the right and across a steep slope, we reach the start of the Cima di Solda (crevasses!).
Below the north-east crest of the Cima di Solda, at about 3,240 m above sea level, we go past a small mountain pass on the left. We go down on the other side across the steep east side of the Cima di Solda and reach the Lunga Pass (danger of falling snow slabs or rocks!). We continue as far as the nearby Rifugio Casati (3,254 m). From the rifugio we head southeast, up along the mountain pass as far as a steep slope between Mount Cevedale and the Cima Cevedale. From the lower section of the crest we go up diagonally to the right to just below the edge of the crevasse. We continue until we reach, over a small crest (in icy conditions leave your skis), the north shoulder of Mount Cevedale. We reach the nearby peak and continue on the right along a wide ridge that then narrows. Descent: via the same route. On the way back down it is better to go a bit further down below the Cima di Solda and then up to the mountain pass. In the same way, when going down along the lower section of the Solda Pass you can keep to the left, at approx. 2,500 m, then to the right, on the ski slope, along which you can go back to the terminal at the foot of the cable car.
