Informationen zur Tour Gioveretto
Ascent: we go down along the road from behind the house and at the first junction we turn right on the road that goes around the lake as far as the wide ditch on the right. Here we start going up, then take route 17 and continue left along the route that leads to the Val Gioveretto (Zufritt Tal). Here, at 2,185 m above sea level, we cross a bridge on the left and reach an open space. We head east and reach the foot of a steep mountain slope. First we turn left and then right until we reach the next open space.
At 2,729 m above sea level, as shown on the map, we turn left to a small pass in the moraine (stone figure). From the right side of Lake Giallo (Gelbsee) we continue among hollows, heading north to reach the wide valley below the Gioveretto glacier (Zufrittferner). We keep to the left below the ice cap, go along the slope, following a bend from right to left, and diagonally as far as a flat pass on the right-hand side (approx. 3,300 m). Now we can see the wide canyon leading to the summit. Depending on the snow conditions on the ground we can go up the slope on the left, after which we need to take off our skis. We continue along the canyon slightly to the left with the use of ropes in the section that leads to a small terrace on the right-hand side, from where after going past some rocks we’ll reach the summit on the left.
