Things to do

A hiking paradise in Sesto and its unspoilt natural surroundings. The Hotel Passo Monte Croce is on the threshold of the 11,600-hectare Sesto Dolomites Nature Park. We will be happy to accompany you in this journey of discovery. Every day a different hike will be available in the Sesto Dolomites. During our weekly guided hikes, Helga, the owner who is also a qualified alpine guide, will take you to the mountain huts and refuges, and to the most attractive summits. Enchanting peaceful places like this still exist! Hikes to seek out flowers and herbs are particularly rewarding when they are in bloom (June/July) just like early morning hikes to Monte Elmo to see the sunrise with a picnic.

Climbs close at hand
Climbing in Sesto in the Alta Pusteria means connecting with nature, far from the madding crowd. Learn to redefine your limits by attending the weekly climbing courses at the Scuola Alpina di Sesto or going on a guided climb. The splendour of the peaks of the Dolomites awaits you!

Mountain biking
Conquer the mountains on your bike. Rides of various levels of difficulty, from the easiest to the most challenging.
If you want to play tennis the hotel has a court you can use free of charge. Nordic walking, horse-riding, indoor rock climbing, canoeing, rafting and paragliding are also available in the nearby town of Sesto Pusteria.

You can ski in Sesto at various altitudes: from 1,300 to 2,200 m above sea level. There are 27 ski lifts and cable cars and 53 slopes in the Monte Elmo and Croda Rossa ski areas, both of which are 6 km from the hotel. Excellent ski bus and shuttle services from the hotel.

The Alta Pusteria is also a paradise for keen alpine skiers. You can find detailed routes here.
Snow shoeing once a week with expert alpine guides. The views of snow-covered peaks and the sense of endless horizons will enchant you.

You can go cross-country skiing in the Passo Monte Croce which was the training camp of the Norwegian biathlon team with Olè Einar Björndalen (world champion at Anterselva in 2007). You can find everything you need to know about cross-country skiing on the website at Dolomiti NordicSki. You can go on winter hikes on a wide variety of different footpaths, with refreshments available in typical mountain huts.

You can experience the thrill and excitement of speed hurtling down 6 km of sledge runs at Croda Rossa.

You can have a romantic tour on a horse-drawn, or even a husky-drawn, sleigh. Forget about the hustle and bustle of daily life and recharge your batteries in a place where winter appears in all its glory!
