The Baita Daniel is 2240m above sea level on the Seceda Alp and has breath-taking views over the endless peaks of the Dolomites. The first stone of the hut was laid in 1971, when Daniel Demez inherited a piece of land and decided to build a hut there. Since 1995, Daniel’s son has run the business, with Brigitte. The extraordinary location, the authentic Tyrolean rooms and the excellent food have tempted many famous people from the worlds of sport, entertainment and politics, to come for a meal at the Baita Daniel.
Tasty alpine specialities meet Italian pasta dishes here. Our excellent desserts and selected wines, both Italian and international, complete the culinary experience pleasantly. A good grappa and a cigar, as well as the view, leave nothing to be desired.
The Daniel mountain hut, above Ortisei and at 2240m above sea level, is authentic and inviting. A stop here is highly recommended.

A vast range of dumplings and pasta, tasty soups and meat-based dishes are a treat for hikers, climbers, skiers and those who, enjoying the atmosphere of traditional mountain huts, have come to eat in the most beautiful mountain hut in Val Gardena.

The hospitality and pleasant atmosphere of the bar
Alpine hospitality, bands playing the accordion, the alpine horn and the guitar on the sunny terrace, and fine wines, refined grappas, cognacs and fruit-based spirits from the cellar. The Baita Daniel offers its guests a wide choice. Smoking a good cigar adds an extra flavour to the drinks and the music.
