Über die Staatsstraße hinaus bis nach Lienz. Alternativ kann ab Welsberg auch auf dem Radweg gefahren werden. Dieser ist bis Lienz sehr gut ausgeschildert. In Lienz, dem tiefsten Punkt dieser Tour, gehts dann nordwärts Richtung Matrei und dann weiter ins Defregger Tal. Hier beginnt der Aufstieg zum Obersee und dem Staller Sattel. Ab der Passhöhe, nun wieder in Italien, gehts über die Hauptstraße (Einbahnregelung bis zum Antholzer See beachten) wieder hinunter bis nach Rasen. Von dort über den bekannten Weg zurück nach Stefansdorf. Die Tour kann auch in entgegengesetzter Richtung gefahren werden.
