This cycling path runs in part on one side of the river bank of the Adige river and in part on the opposite river bank. The itinerary starts in Bolzano. Cycle for 3 km on a narrow strip of land between Isarco and Adige until you reach the point where the two rivers meet. Cross the Adige River and cycle past the Safety Park, which is the Road Safety Centre of Alto Adige, until you reach the Pfattner bridge. Cross the bridge and then take the cycling path towards Salorno. Return to the starting point following the same route.
In the afternoon, it can get quite windy with the ‘Ora’ south wind, therefore we suggest this itinerary be done in the morning so that you cycle before the wind on your way back.
Warning: In summer in the Bolzano basin, in the Adige Valley and in the South Tyrolean Unterland it can get very hot, so an early morning start is recommended.
Below Castel Roncolo or at the San Genesio cableway.
By train until Bolzano and then road bike.
Follow the directions for Val Sarentino or for the San Genesio Cableway.
