Head towards Pòstal – Burgstall on the cycling path for Merano. At the roundabout in Sinigo, before Merano turn right in the direction of the Trauttmansdorff Gardens. When you reach a small bridge, turn left into Katzensteinstrasse Road and cycle up the road. Take Dante Road and continue until Fontana Square following the road signs for Giovo Pass. After 20 km slightly uphill, you will reach Sankt Leonhard in Passeier, from where you will start the climb towards the Giovo Pass (2099 m). You will have a 20 km climb. Once at the top, cycle back down in the direction of Vipiteno. Just before reaching Vipiteno, turn right in the direction of the Pènnes Pass for the second stretch of the itinerary. After 15 quite difficult kilometres you will reach the Pènnes Pass at an altitude of 2211 m. From this point, the route is all downhill in the Sarentino Valley until Bolzano. Cycle along Fago Road until Gries Square and then follow the directions for the hospital. At the traffic lights, turn left and then straight on until the roundabout where you must turn right and then cycle straight on until you reach the starting point at Castel Firmiano.
