Informationen zu Wieserhütte

The hikers, the mountain lovers and the mountain bike riders are always glad to have a break in the Wieserhütte and Valle Altfossa in Maranza. The Valle Altfossa is one of the most loved hiked areas in the Gitschberg Jochtal. The sun-drenched mountain hut decorated by the soft hills, the cows in the fields enjoying the tranquillity and unspoilt nature in an authentic mountainous area remains with each and every one of us.
In the Wieserhütte haven, Simon, with his homemade Alto Adige mountain cheese and delicacies, manages to fill his hosts’ bellies. Outside, on the sunny terrace, inside in the characteristic Stube, everyone is in a good mood, and how could you be in any other mood in such a place? For everyone who wishes to rest a bit longer, the Wieserhütte offers family accommodation.
Numerous hiking tracks converge at the Wieserhütte and from here there is lots of variety on offer: by foot or bike, hosts can go towards the Laghi di Campolago, Cima di Campolago, Cima della Capra or Waldenjoch. The surrounding areas offer beautiful family trips as Alpine adventures.

In Valle Altfossa a Maranza, at 1,850m above sea level, the guests of Wieserhütte live here but get much more. Friendly atmosphere, a fantastic panorama and inviting Alto Adige dishes fill the guests with joy.

Picturesque and cosy

In the middle of the mountains, in the Valle Altfossa, hikers and mountain bike lovers can sleep in soft beds in the Wieserhütte haven. 3 rooms for 2/3 people with WC and shower or a dormitory with essentials with a capacity of 16 people are available at 1,850 metres above sea level. Discounts are available for groups. The characteristic Stube (in typical Aldo Adige style) awaits you and other’s company, while many stories and memories in front of the Majolic heater will be told. An indescribable panorama and a serene atmosphere at the hut add something special to the equation.

Wooden Stube, Majolica heaters and fresh mountain air

Sit outside and warm up in the sun while looking out over the mountains. During the cold days there is the welcoming Stube where there is always a friendly atmosphere to attract your attention. Everything topped off with exquisite Aldo Adige specialities. Simon spoils you with different types of canederli, a delicious Aldo Adige afternoon tea and Kaiserschmarrn cakes. The hut speciality is the homemade mountain cheese. Different types of cheeses, like mountain cheese, cheese with herbs, pepper, grey cheese, ricotta and fresh cheese, and other dairy products, like butter, buttermilk and yogurt can be tasted in the Wiserhütte haven and even bought. With many culinary experiences, it’s easy to be full of energy before starting another adventure.
