Along the splendid Landro Valley, through stunning gorges and lush green vegetation to the Pusteria Valley, After 80.9 km, the journey ends at 550 m above sea level near Bressanone in the heart of the Isarco Valley. The Rienza reservoir which is over 2,143 km2 is one of the major sources of the Isarco river and its tributaries. Numerous drainage systems and dams were built for electricity generation and to prevent the floods which were a recurring problem in the XX century.
What appears to be a simple hike at the start becomes an adventure along the river. The Rienza is situated at 2,180 m above sea level at the foot of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo.
