The museum in the former goods shed of the Engi-Vorderdorf station conveys an atmosphere that takes you back to the times of the railway's operation from 1905 to 1969.
The small red Sernftal railway made a significant contribution to the economic development of the Sernftal. It supplied the textile factories with raw materials and collected the end products. It served various quarries and brought the inhabitants of the valley out into the wide world and some tourists into the impressive mountain landscape.
