The current Protestant church of Maloja, the “Chiesa Evangelica Ulrico Zwingli”, was erected in 1888-89 by the architect Nicolaus Hartmann Snr. and the master builder Alexander Kuoni, and was frequented at the time by the Anglican community. Built to a stylised neo-Gothic design, the church has exposed stone walls and a curved hip roof with a small roof turret; the wooden vaulting inside suggests the interior of Noah’s Ark. The single-manual organ was built by the organ manufacturer Freytag in Felsberg, Graubünden.
