The megalithic cult site is a unique center that combines astronomy, mathematics and Bronze Age cult.
The first Graubünden astronomers probably lived in Falera. Menhirs and bowl stones have stood in Parc La Mutta, a megalithic place of worship, for 3,500 years. Why did the locals watch the sun, moon and stars in prehistoric times? And why did they leave so many rows of stones, menhirs and shell stones? Falera is located on a beautiful sun terrace at 1,200 meters above sea level. Here people have created a unique center that combines astronomy, mathematics and cult. The Falera Bronze Age megalithic complex, with a length of 400 meters and more than 34 stones, is one of the largest astronomical centers in Switzerland. Cup stones and menhirs from this period still indicate the summer and winter solstice today. The main row of stones consists of six columnar stones. Three more stones form an exact, Pythagorean triangle, years before Pythagoras even lived. The Parc La Mutta Falera can be explored on your own thanks to an educational trail. During the tour, the ten most important sights are explained using an information sheet that is available at the entrance. The paths around the Mutta are intentionally left in their natural state, and in summer there are regular public tours of the Parc La Mutta Falera. These tours provide a general insight into what happened 3,500 years ago. You can register here: http:
