The Monte Cavallo cable car leads from Sterzing up to the sun terrace of the city.
The cable car Rosskopf takes you from Sterzing, the northernmost town in South Tyrol, up to the so-called sun terrace of Sterzing. The cable car brings active guests, nature lovers and sun worshippers up to the top station at 1,860 meters in just 15 minutes. In winter, the Rosskopf ski area, a member of the Ortler Ski Arena, offers enchanting and perfectly groomed slopes with different degrees of difficulty. Just a few years back a new valley run has been installed, which leads almost to the pedestrian area of Sterzing. As one of the winter highlights, the longest illuminated and snow-covered toboggan run in South Tyron and Italy can be found on Sterzing's local mountain. On Friday nights the toboggan run is open for tobogganing with floodlight. To round up the package, you can also go for a snowshoe and winter hike.In the summer season, the Rosskopf Ski area offers excellent family hike opportunities. The children's playground and petting zoo "Rossy Park" with rabbits, donkeys, goats, ponies and mountain hares is a popular destination for the little ones. With the new summer toboggan run "Rosskopf Panorama Mountain Coaster" a new summer highlight has been put into place for all age groups.
