Landscape in Ticino

The 270 m long Tibetan bridge built by the Foundation Curzútt-S. Barnard allows the passage of the rugged valley that separates the communities of Sementina and Monte Carasso, two towns located in front of Bellinzona. The bridge joins the stone made village of Curzútt to the hiking path of Via delle Vigne, allowing you to make excursions in an area characterized by a landscape rich in cultural heritages.

The new "Fiore di pietra" tourist attraction is a unique structure created by architect Mario Botta.

Cardada is a fascinating place, as is the journey in the ultra modern cable car which takes you from Orselina at 395 metres above sea level to Cardada at 1,340 metres above sea level in just 5 minutes.

The bridge "ponte romano" also called "Ponte dei salti" (jump bridge) crosses the Verzasca river in Lavertezzo and is a typical medieval construction made of stone. After its partial destruction occured in 1868 it has been reconstructed in 1960. Close to the bridge you can admire a Chapel from the XVIII century.

The small village of Tremona has become known for its archaeological excavations which have been carried out since 2000.

The fortified complex of Bellinzona is an extraordinary example of a late medieval defence structure located at a key strategic point in the Alpine landscape. The Bellinzona castles are some of the most enchanting examples of fortified medievaL'architecture of the Alps.

The southernmost point of Switzerland is easy to recognise because of the "milestone" indicating the coordinates, but also because of two installations that have been placed there: a paving that depicts Switzerland and a nice photo point.
