This beautiful trail runs along man-made water channels and takes in themed walks. The splendid scenery and landscapes are particularly spectacular in spring and autumn.

Directions


The Meran Waalweg trail consists of 8 short hikes, 84 km in total, known as the "Meran Waalweg Trail".  This circuit trail connects 11 irrigation channels, including the irrigation channels of Scena, Marlengo and Rablà. The Start point is Tel from where the trail runs along the irrigation channels of Lagundo and Caines leading to the village of Saltusio in the Val Passiria. From here the trail continues along the irrigation channels of Maia and Scena to the village of Naif, and finally downhill via Postal to Lana. From here the trail continues along the irrigation channels of Brandis, Ciermes and Marlengo and takes you back to Tel. The trail then continues along the irrigation channels of Parcines and Rablà to the village of Naturno finally heading back to Tel via the Rittersteig route along the Val Venosta

Individual stages:
Stage 1 – from Tel to Caines 3:45 hours
Stage 2 – From Caines to Saltusio 2:15 hours
Stage 3 – From Saltusio to Naif 3:45 hours
Stage 4 – From Naif to Lana 3:45 hours
Stage 5 – From Lana to Tel 4:00 hours
Stage 6 – From Tel to Rablà 2:15 hours
Stage 7 – From Rablà to Naturno 2:30 hours
Stage 8 – From Naturno to Tel 3:30 hours

By train from Meran to Tel or
bus (services from Meran to Lagundo-Parcines and Silandro-Meran).

Directions

By car from Meran or from the Val Venosta towards Tel, turn left at the junction with the Tel Bridge and head towards the Lagundo car park at the start of the trail.
