The Telfer Weißen (literally: the Telfer "Whites", which take their name from the nearby village of Telfes and their very light color) are a group of triple Dolomite peaks northwest of the Vipiteno (Sterzing) Basin.

From Vipiteno (Sterzing) at 950 m, start off on a lift (valley station is on the northern edge of the city) to the Monte Cavallo (Rosskopf) alpine pastureland area (1,900 m; cable car summit station, restaurants). From there, take Trail No. 23, which is quite broad and marked with signs for the Ridnauner Höhenweg high trail, towards the west. After about 30 minutes, you’ll reach Ochsenalm, where a pathway branches off to the right towards Telfer Weißen Mountain (signposted), which is still marked Trail No. 23. Continue through steep alpine slopes, climbing a slight grade to the southeast ridge of Telfer Weißen, then onto a better trail through the eastern side and reaching the eastern summit (2,566 m) easily. From there, you have to go through a small rock chimney (fixed tether) down into a gorge and beyond along a steep exposed section (also with fixed safety tethers) up to the main summit (2,588 m); 3 hours from Monte Cavallo. Descent is as ascent. Optional variant: from the eastern summit, go down first a bit along the route you came up from; then, without switching over to the south side, follow marked traces of the trail via the highest alpine slopes of the Vallminger Alm pasture, down towards the Alm’s mountain huts (1,813 m). Then take Trail No. 19A east, approximately 15 min, up to Kastellacke, a tiny mountain lake (1,920 m); briefly take Trail No 19 south, then down a light grade, and back to the starting point; just over 2 hours from the summit.
