Directions
Coming from Laces (Latsch), go to the valley station of the chairlift and take it up to Tarscher Alm alpine pasture (1,940 m). From there, follow Trail No. 1 on foot along the forest bordering the ski run to the barn at Pfara Alm alpine pastures and a weather cross (2,436 m); turn right here, and follow signs for Hasenöhrl across the northwestern slope of Marchegg Mountain, over to Latscher Joch Pass (2,507 m, missing from some maps; 1.5 hours from Tarscher Alm). From there, it’s a good trail on a hillside and along a stone ridge up to Blauen Schneide (2,915 m) then flat for a bit, and then a steep grade over rocks, not difficult, to a secondary peak with cairns (3,026 m). From there, over the horizontal, serrated ridge (a bit trickier spot, with a couple of iron pegs), and finally a slightly inclined ridge, along a marked trail, to the big summit cross. From Latscher Joch, about 2.5 hrs. Descent: same trail as the ascent; you can also opt to take Trail No. 2 from Latscher Joch up to some ski lodges, and then down through the forest, on Trail No. 9, to Tarscher Alm.
