Only surpassed by the Jakobsspitze opposite, the Tagewaldhorn is the second highest peak of the Sarn valley's eastern ridge and is one of the most beautiful rock formations in the region.

Directions

From the car park below Durnholz (1540 m) walk up the road to Durnholzer See and on to its northern corner, then go left following marking No. 16 on the road and broad track through Seebbachtal to the Seebalm hut (refreshments, 1803 m), continue on track 16 up to Flaggerscharte and Flaggerschartenhütte on Flaggersee (2481 m, serviced during summer, 3 hrs. from Durnholz). Now follow track 15 which leads upward briefly to the north, then downhill over a rocky path with fixed ropes, turn right at the fork to follow track 15A on almost even ground across the southern flank of the mountain, finally across stone and rubble steeply uphill to the rocky eastern ridge and across on the left on a steep and exposed but not too difficult section to the nearby summit cross  (2708 m, 1:30 hrs from the hut). – The descent should follow the same route and takes around 3 hours.
