Approach is from Fundres (Pfunders) at 1,159 m, in Fundres Valley, which is a side valley of Val Pusteria (Pustertal): take the access road into the valley for 4 km to the hamlet of Dun (1,500 m). From there (or from a small parking area at a slightly higher elevation), stay with trail markings (No. 13) first briefly shortly on Höfestraße Street (lit: farm road) and then onto a wide road through the forest running into the valley, until you reach a bridge over the stream. Turn right on the footpath, party on steep grassy slopes, up into the Upper Eisbruggtal Valley (always staying with No. 13). From there, it isn’t steep up to Eisbruggalm (2,154 m; serves food; just under 2 hours from the starting point. Then, you’ll cross stony pasturelands to Ponte di Ghiaccio (Eisbruggsee) Lake at 2,351 m; it’s not too steep up to the Rifugio Ponte di Ghiaccio (Edelrauthütte) at 2,545 m; 3 hours and 15 minutes from the hamlet of Dun. From there, follow trail markings on the south side over boulders and crags up to the summit ridge and the summit cross of Napfspitze Peak (2,888 m). From the mountain hut: 1 hour. Descent: same as the ascent described; 3 hours total.
