Pulpits are usually used to preach or to bring truths to the people. They also offer a great view, especially if they are made of chalk and if they are located high above the fjord of the upper Lake Garda. All the talking becomes irrelevant, once you stand in front of this breath-taking scene. 800 metres below you can see the chiselled water, and from the wild valley of the Val di Ledro you can see the old Ponale-road, constructed in 1851 and a very famous bike-trail today, rising on hairpin-curves. Directly in front you can see the Cima Capi (909 m), rising to the sky and to the left and behind it you can see the Cima Rocca and the Rochetta (1540 m). At the foot of this rugged massive you can see the village Riva and a little more distant to the lake you can also see Arco and its mascot, the steep rock of the castle. Between Riva and Torbole you can see the Monte Brione (374 m) that appears to be a half-molten ice cream cake with an antenna-like peak and the Sarca to its south. Its valley leads to the Paganella (2098 m), also equipped with modern decoration. On windy days you can enjoy the view to the north of the main crest of the Alps. Its drama is due to the Nodice (855 m), where the chalky slopes rise almost vertically from the water of the sea.

The rocky head of the Nodice (Cima di Lè, 855 m) rises to the north of Pregàsina, the well-marked rise to the peak starts south of this place. Initially, you walk in the “wrong” direction, passing the church San Giorgio until you reach the height of the Dos de Cala (576 m), where SAT-signs lead to the right. A cemented road rises slowly and becomes a forest road. The next junction (ca. 700 m) leads to the right again (n. 429). Again to the right, you will shortly reach the entry of the “Scala Santa” (signs). It leads behind a separated tower and rises at the left to a cave, over steps in the rocks (wire cable) to the trenches and the caverns near the peak. The rock is porous as a Swiss cheese as the Alpini built it to be a fortress (caution when entering the cavities and tunnels, to the valley they tend to be steep). The descent is on the western side at the nearby Bocca di Lè (806 m), where a monument remembers the fallen Italian soldiers of the First World War. At the pass you reach a junction of four paths. The one to the left (“Pregàsina”) leads through the forest and exits into the path of the ascension. Following this path you can reach the starting point of this small but variety rich tour.
