Impressive mountain that divides the Val Scura and the Val Stràngola, carried by the mighty cliffs that hinder the access from the eastern side. The importance of this mountain is given by the beautiful view provided at the top where you can see the Val di Tovel and the famous lakes. You can combine this tour with the hike onto the Cima di Val Stràngola.

Directions

From the parking lot you follow the road until you reach the alp Malga Arza (1507 m) and at the next junction you turn for the alp Malga Termoncello. If you continue straight (n. 370) you can find a path to the right that brings you to the alp Malga Loverdina (1768 m, open) after having walked through the steep forest. If you continue south through the larches you will pass the junction for the valley Val degli Inferni and eventually reach a hill (2034 m). Here you continue downhill to the Malga Campa (1978 m, bivouac) where you leave the path to continue west or south-west over the meadows with some rocks. To the right you will eventually find another path which you then follow until you reach the “amphitheatre” just below the peak Cima al Stràngola. After a steep incline next to the paths you will reach the Passo di Val Stràngola (2253 m, view of the Lake Tovel) where you can follow the north-eastern crest to reach the peak of the La Rocca mountain. Between grass and easy rocks, along this variety-rich and exciting route, you will reach a saddle and behind it you will find a plateau. You turn right (west) for the last easy incline before you reach the top of La Rocca (2496 m, view of Brenta Nord, Torra Flavona, Lake Tovel, Val di Non). On your way back to the Passo di Val Stràngola you can walk along three other peaks (2348 m, passages along a narrow crest) or you follow the path n. 1 that goes evenly through the eastern side of the mountain to reach the Passo degli Inferni (2212 m). Here you follow the steep path along the northern side to get down into the Val degli Inferni where you eventually meet the path of your walk uphill (n. 370) which you can then follow to get back to your starting point.
