Through Kaserbach valley on a track to the summit.

Directions

From the "Brückele" inn (Altpragser Tal; 1491 m) briefly walk towards the valley then turn right to follow marking 30, on a wide path up to a fork (where No. 4 branches off left to Rossalm) where you turn right, still following No. 30, walking up through the steep but beautiful Kaserbach valley (a broad path narrowing to a track) until you reach the uppermost mountain pastures and follow track 29 then track 28. This leads you to Gamssattel (2448 m), then right on a marked track taking you to the summit (2559) in just 20 minutes. 3:30 hrs. from "Brückele" – Descent: From the summit head south to follow the red marking over grassland, partly treckless, partly on a steep downhill path (watch out for markings!) to track 29 and through the steep Gufidauntal down to the small Postmeisteralm (1968 m), then continue the steep descent to the valley on track 29 and finally back to the "Brückele" inn. 2:30 hrs. from the summit.

There are a number of steep slopes. Walking the summit area requires walkers to be sure-footed.

Public transportation

By train to Welsberg or Niederdorf, then by bus to Säge or Schmieden. From here by bus to Brückele.

Directions

From the west take the A22 - Val Pusteria (Pustertal) exit - then on SS49 to the turn-off to Pragsertal (on the right) - in Schmieden keep left, then on to Brückele.
