This mountain closes off the Val di Breguzzo and is its highest point at the same time. A rather long hike with a notable change in altitude, only recommended when the weather is great. From this lonely peak you will have a beautiful view.

From the parking area you walk down for a bit into the Hochtal (road) until you reach the hut Rifugio Trivena (1650 m) where you can also spend the night. Along the Val di Trivena you follow the path 223 until you reach the Pian di Redont (1970 m) where you turn right to cross a steep canal with ropes. After having crossed some grassy slopes, you will get to a junction on 2200 m. Here you continue left, following the n. 261A to the “Cop”. Via barren pastures you walk west until you reach another junction where you turn right in the direction of the Bocca del Cop di Casa (2270 m). After crossing a plateau you reach a steep grassy slope and an area full of stony debris. You turn left for the Passo di Breguzzo and you get to reach the foot of the mountain on 2790 m. Here you leave the pass that leads to the pass to turn right (signs) onto an old military path that brings you through the eastern slope of the “Cop” to the Bocchetta dei Cacciatori (the hunters’ pass, 2898 m). You follow the signs to the left to reach the peak and the northern crest. By following some stone pyramids (“Steinmännchen”) you can get to the edge of the crest and some exposed steps and a passage through two tilted slabs bring you to the peak of the Cop di Breguzzo (with a summit register). This ascent is very fulfilling and on clear days you can admire the spectacular and almost borderless panorama, reaching from the Monte Rosa via the Großglockner to the Olperer and even the Apennin! To get back, you need to follow the same path.
