Directions

From the head of the Val di Ridanna (1,417 m, Museum of old quarries, road from Vipiteno) we will follow route 9, walking up through a forest and along the mountain stream of Aglsboden, then to the small Grohmannhütte (Rifugio Vedretta Piana, 2,254 m, open occasionally), and to the Rifugio Vedretta Pendente – Teplitzer Hütte (2,586 m, sleeps 50; 3.5 hours). We will continue on boulders and sheer rocks, passing near the frozen lake of Übeltalsee, on a moraine and taking extra care when crossing a section of the glacier We will eventually reach the peak of the Becher on a route which is equipped with fixed ropes.
