This tour runs on some old, remote connecting routes between three villages. Unfortunately the signage is not always ideal and some of the signs have been damaged. This makes orientation a little hard at times. This route, which runs on steep forest roads, technical single-tracks and short hike-a-bike sections, is quite interesting despite its technical data.

Directions

In this almost undiscovered part of the Bassa Valsugana lie the three villages of Cinte Tesino, Castello Tesino and Pieve Tesino.

Itinerary description

Start from the centre of ➊ Pieve Tesino (830 m, parking opportunity in the sport area, underneath the village), heading west toward the exit of the village and follow the first sign MTB route 245 “Castello Tesino“ to the ➋ Passo Forcella (910 m). After 50 metres we drop to the left, ➌ signage ”Rifugio Monte Lefre“, and shortly after the sport pitch ➍ take the steep forest road to the right, at the fork ➎ follow the sign-posted path and get to
➏ the road access, turn left on the paved road to Cinte Tesino (a fun single-track would lead straight into the village, but it’s partly overgrown), and from ➐ Piazzetta Busana Maria (village square) in Cinte Tesino (850 m) the route is again clearly sign-posted; cross a meadow and enter the forest (keeping track of the signs), and follow a not-well-defined path to the river. ➑ After crossing the bridge, ride along the Grigno lake until to the ➒ SP 78; turn right to ➓ arrive at Castello Tesino (860 m), ride into the village centre and continue to the end of it. ⓫ Access the SP 79 (road to Passo Brocon), drop to the right and after 300 m follow the sign “Passeggiata Passugola“ to the left. At the fork ⓬ with roadside shrine continue on route 245. Now on a delicate single-track, which involves some hike-a-bike sections, continue to the ⓭ fork, follow the sign ”bike trophy“ to the left, at the impressive con- crete cross ⓮ turn left to drop on a single-track (ignore the “bike trophy” sign, it has been sabotaged), and continue to the paved road, keeping right on the MTB 245. From here, leave the aban- doned houses behind and climb along a shaded forest road to the returning point ⓯, the Kneipphof (1090 m, closed). Take the forest road beneath and drop into the valley, continuing to a ⓰ bridge. Cross this and briefly ride uphill; turn left and follow the road back to Pieve Tesino.
