The first section of the tour runs on forest roads in the Val Monzoni, the second part through the wild and almost untouched Val S. nicolò. Surrounded by the cima Dodici and cima Undici peaks, the Monzoni Group, the costabella, cima Uomo and col ombert, this valley is considered to be one of the most unspoiled in the Dolomites. Riding along the S. nicolò river leads to a hut by the waterfalls.
On MtB route n. 206 (sign-posted). the starting point is the village of Meida (Pozza di Fassa), at the Buffaure cable car valley station ➊ 1350 m. Follow the ski slope for a short while, then enter the valley and continue to the camping Vidor ➋, turn right into the forest and wait for the Malga al crocifisso ➌ 1530 m. turn right again, follow the forest road into the Valle dei Monzoni, pass the Baita Monzoni (hut) ➍ 1800 m and arrive at the goal of the route: the Malga Monzoni ➎ 1866 m. Ride back for about 100 metres on the access road ➏, on the right side of the valley pass in between two huts ➐; from here, continue partly on shaded forest roads and gnarly single-tracks, to the paved ➑ road, continue on for 1.5 km along the Val S. nicolò and to the fork ➒, then change over to the right side of the river and negotiate a few tough sections to get to the Baita alle cascate ➓ 1985 m. Drop into the valley on route n. 641 also known as “Strada dei Rusci“, pass the ciampiè hut ⓫ 1830 m and on the paved road, return to the start- ing point.
