A simple but very enjoyable mountain bike tour with beautiful single track sections on the Tschöggelberg (Monzoccolo) overlooking Meltina (Mölten) near Merano.

Directions

Go along the Schweinbichl forest path to the north, then follow the signs to Leadner Alm. After a short trail section, you reach another forest path. Go left here and follow the road. It ends in a meadow, ride up it on the right hand side. After a short section in the forest you cross a path. Keep riding straight along the single track. Continue straight on the forest path that follows, then turn left onto a single track. This opens out onto the Kössbrunn forest path. Keep right here, ignoring the sign to Leadner Alm after a few hundred metres, and stay on the forest path. It leads into the valley relatively steeply, after a few kilometres, follow the signs to Leadner Alm. After a crossing over the stream, head out of the valley straight to Leadner Alm.

For the return journey, follow signs to Langfenn. First go through a small patch of forest, then along a tar road. After one exit and a right hairpin, turn left onto a path through a meadow. It begins downhill but then goes steeply uphill and back to the Kössbrunn forest road. Go right and follow it until you reach a large crossroads. Turn left and go up the tar road and then right onto a single track. This takes you back to the first part of the outward journey. By taking the forest road and the single trail you return to the car park in Schermoos.
