The plateau right above the Braies Valley offers an unforgettable panoramic view with the croda Rossa, the tre cime, tofane and the cristallo Range for backdrop. A good fitness level and a good amount of leg endurance is required for this 1000 m climb, which is spread over 46 km. the most challenging climbs are left behind once the plateau has been reached. A stunning view overlooking the surrounding mountains makes the opportunity for a respite from the climb even more pleasant.
From the railway station in ➊ Villabassa (1154 m) follow the Val Pus- teria cycling route towards Brunico ➋ up to the crossing; from here take a left to Valle di Braies and arrive at ➌ Ferrara (1220 m). From the bottom of Ferrara cross the road that leads to Lake Braies and follow way marker n. 37 to the road access ➍; from here take the road up to ➎ Ponticello (1490 m) and then, still climbing, carry on to ➏ Pratopiazza (2010 m, highest point of the tour). Follow the Val di Stolla downhill to the ➐ SS 51 Dobbiaco-cortina, from here keep left up to carbonin; from the ➑ carbonin crossing for 500 metres follow the road to lago Misurina, and then take the bicycle path in the direction of Dobbiaco. Pass ➒ Lago di Landro (1403 m) and ➓ Lago di Dobbiaco (1280 m) and eventually reach the village ⓫ of Dobbiaco (1220 m). When entering the village take the Val Pusteria bicycle path toward Brunico and at the railway ⓬ bridge follow the bicycle route that will return to the starting point in Villabassa.
