Then an alpine holiday at the Lodge Oberhauserhütte at 1,730 m is the perfect choice for you! Here, amidst the picturesque environment of the Rodengo-Luson Alp, you will not only find culinary highlights and a diverse, alpine leisure program, but also the extraordinary panorama of the South Tyrolean mountain world. From one of our rooms or from a romantic suite, you may admire the idyllic views of spacious alpine meadows, rugged rocky landscapes, green forests, and the high mountain peaks of the Dolomites. Our mountain lodge in South Tyrol is surrounded by pristine nature. Nevertheless, in only 30 minutes you may reach the cultural city of Bressanone, where once the bishops resided. There are medieval streets, and many shops – and in the winter the original South Tyrolean Christmas market invites you for shopping and strolling.
Alpine breakfast & brunch at the mountain inn
In our mountain inn, a good start to the day begins with a balanced, regional breakfast buffet. Our half-board guests may enjoy freshly ground coffee, home-made bread, yoghurt and syrup, home-made butter, and jam. The strawberries, cranberries and blueberries for our jams come from the forests around our alp. We turn cherries and currants into delicious treats, such as our fabulous redcurrant cake. It has not only an inviting scent, but also an amazing taste, especially after a relaxing night on the Luson Alp. Those who prefer a rather hearty buffet at our alpine lodge near Bressanone may choose from a variety of farmhouse breads, a cheese spread with alpine herbs from our farm, cheese, bacon, and fresh milk from our cows. Such a breakfast on the alp is a very special experience! Here, you may enjoy local products while admiring a wonderful panorama and fill up on energy for your next summit tour – or for a leisurely hike, for example to Rodengo.
On request, we also offer a brunch in our restaurant on the mountain alp. Whether with friends or family, locals, or guests: Brunching on the alp is a delicious treat for everyone! Serve yourself at the rich buffet with all delicacies. For this a glass of sparkling wine is served. You can also enjoy cappuccino with freshly ground beans, chocolate or various teas.
Alpine cuisine for lunch
Imagine relaxing amid green alpine meadows and flowering herb gardens near the forest. You sit comfortably in the sun, it is completely quiet, no car to hear, and a delicious scent wafts through the air. This is a typical experience at the Lodge Oberhauserhütte, because in our alpine hut we give great importance to culinary delights.
We promise you: Our lunch is a real treat. Our extensive menu will make the heart of every gourmet beat faster: Here, you will find meats from our farm, game from the local forests, fresh potatoes from our vegetable garden, beets and cabbage from our fields and the freshest alpine herbs. Enjoy a typical South Tyrolean traditional dish, such as bacon dumplings with goulash, or indulge in the Mediterranean flair and try the homemade egg noodles with asparagus and ham. While you smell the scent of zesty herbs of the extraordinary culinary creations, our service manager Thomas will be happy to advise you on the wine selection. He cares about tradition and regionality, and the exquisite South Tyrolean wines are characterized by an extraordinary variety: fresh and fruity white wines to accompany egg noodles, or strong, elegant red wines to enhance venison goulash.
For children we offer special kids’ menus and children’s plates. Families with children will certainly feel comfortable here and may enjoy a great lunch together. On request, we are happy to organize birthday parties or weddings and pamper you and your guests with our delightful specialties.
We also have good news for allergy sufferers, who are particularly dependent on the skills and special knowledge of the kitchen chefs, if they wish to dine outside their home. For our chef David, food intolerances and allergies are a familiar territory and we are happy to prepare a special yet tasteful menu for you.
Our gourmet half-board
For all guests in our mountain inn on the Rodengo Alp in South Tyrol we have come up with something very special: our gourmet half-board. If you book one of our seven rooms or one of our three exquisite half-board suites, you will not only enjoy our premium breakfast buffet, but also a four-course meal in the evening. Our dishes are predominantly made from our farm products. We get these from our cows, fields, and herb garden. Fresh berries and mushrooms grow all around in the woods and our vegetable garden blooms and gives us potatoes, turnips, and fresh herbs. Our regional kitchen leaves nothing to be desired: We not only serve typical alpine dishes, such as Schlutzkrapfen, Kasnocken, bacon dumplings and strudel, but our chef David also interprets different Mediterranean dishes and international specialties.
